Introduction to Stone Setting: In this 8 week class we'll demystify stone setting through a focused introduction to this ancient technique. Students will learn to make bezel settings using round, oval, and irregular shaped stones. The class will also cover tube settings, resulting in a variety of wearable jewels.
Prerequisites: Metals + Jewelry 1 or equivalent experience is encouraged, but not required.
$430 (includes a $50 materials fee)
Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
