Curb Chains

Andy Lowrie | Thursdays | 6:30 - 10:00 pm | March 6 - March 27

A curb chain is composed of round or oval interlocking links that are twisted so that they lie flat. In this course, students will improve their chain making skills by learning to craft their own curb chain in brass. Curb chains are typically made of thicker material than other styles, so crafting one will help to elevate your ability to shape and solder metal. The class will also cover finishing touches such as crafting end-caps and s-hooks, and polishing.

Prerequisite: Metals + Jewelry 1 or equivalent experience.

 $295 (includes a $25 materials fee)

Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
