This eight-week course introduces students to the art of carving and casting chains. In addition to carving, modeling, and casting waxes, students will make and use molds to produce or replicate finished chains faster than would be effective by fabrication alone. This class offers a strong foundation in making multiples and waxworking for production jewelry—perfect for beginners.

Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
