This one-day workshop introduces the fundamentals of sand casting — a fast, satisfying way to create small metal objects using simple tools and materials. Students will learn how to prepare and pack a flask, melt and pour metal, and clean up their finished casts. Perfect for beginners or those looking for a quick hands-on experience with molten metal.

Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
