Creative Powder Coating

Molly Shulman I Wednesdays I 6:30 - 10:00pm I January 7 - February 11

Powder coating is an industrial process used to create a hard finish on metal that is tougher than conventional paint. This technique provides the contemporary metalsmith or jeweler a new way to introduce color into their work. This class familiarizes students with the basics of powder coating, including simple DIY setups, multiple applications, finishes, and more.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.

$380 (includes a $50 materials fee)

Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
