Deep dive into this classic earring format! The most ancient of all earrings, humans have been wearing hoops for millennia for good reason. Starting with simple studs and progressing to hinged ear wires and mechanical catches, students will play with symmetry and connection to complete at least three pairs of hoops. Techniques covered include, stud fabrication, earwire-bending, three knuckle hinge fabrication, hinged catches, and tension catches.

Prerequisite: Intro to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.

$405 (includes $25 materials fee)

Tuition and fees for classes at the Baltimore Jewelry Center are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to more equitably fund our classes and encourage more donations to subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
