This weekend workshop gives an introduction to the ancient technique of chasing and repousse with a contemporary spin. We will cover how to work with pitch and practice the use of lining tools as well as chasing and repousse to create deep 3-dimensional forms from sheet metal. We will also use the hydraulic press to create initial depth through die forming which we will refine using chasing tools.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Metals + Jewelry or equivalent experience.

Tuition and fee for classes at the Baltimore are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to encourage more donations and subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
