Learn about cutting, carving, polishing, and treating this fascinating fossilized resin. We will discuss the strength and limits to this material and learn of its historical significance (both in ancient civilization and its origins during the Cretaceous), all while creating a carved gem that can be set in a jewelry piece or left as an art object.

No experience necessary. Materials kit provided. Registration includes a $35 materials fee.

Tuition and fee for classes at the Baltimore are subsidized in large part by grants and contributions from our community. The rate that we charge for each class covers only 60% of the true cost to run the class. In an effort to encourage more donations and subsidize our programs, we are now pricing classes on a sliding scale. If you are able to do so, please consider paying a higher rate for your class. The difference you pay will be considered a donation and you will be issued a donation receipt.
