Through a chemical process etching adds depth and texture to jewelry and metal objects, allowing an exciting variety of surfaces to be produced. In this class students will explore the modern process of electrolytic etching with a variety of metals and resists. Various techniques and applications, including photo, transfer, and free-form etching will be covered. Patinas and surface treatments to enhance etched surfaces will be explored as well.
